Ultra Venus is a series of portraits that explores the influence of toxic constructions of beauty over our identities.
We are incessantly bombarded with fake imagery promoting unrealistic ideals of beauty, that encourages us to spend insane amounts of money on whichever "supremely-effective", "holy-grail" treatments or products that happens to fit the trend of the moment.
Employing satirical wit, Ultra Venus presents a bizarre collection of portraits, shining a light on some seriously strange beauty practices, involving the weirdest beauty tools ever invented.
The project aim is place focus on our culture’s obsession with perfection that drives us to look in the mirror and never feel good enough, as if our appearance define us as a person.
